Shrouded Fable is a special expansion in the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) — part of the Scarlet & Violet series — released on August 2, 2024. Unlike a full-size set, it’s a mini expansion focused on theme, art, and a compact but impactful card lineup.

Shrouded Fable carries a mysterious, shadowy motif tied to the land of Kitakami, echoing elements from Pokémon Scarlet & Violet and its DLC. The set’s flavour text evokes rumours, deception, and nightfall, as a malevolent presence rises — embodied by the new Pokémon introduced in this expansion. 

🐾 Key Pokémon & Characters

• Pecharunt ex makes its TCG debut as a Darkness-type Pokémon, with abilities that support tactical bench switching.

• The Loyal Three — Okidogi ex, Munkidori ex, and Fezandipiti ex — also appear in this set as Pokémon ex, building on characters introduced in Twilight Masquerade and game lore. 

• Other notable cards include Kingdra ex and Revavroom ex (a Lightning Tera Pokémon) among the set’s powerful ex options.

Shrouded Fable contains over 95 cards in total. It’s smaller than typical expansions and includes:

• 5 Pokémon ex and 1 Tera Pokémon ex

• 3 ACE SPEC rare Trainer cards, including an ACE SPEC Stadium

• 15 Illustration Rare Pokémon

• 10 Ultra Rare Pokémon, Tera Pokémon, and Supporter cards

• 5 Special Illustration Rare cards

• 5 Hyper Rare gold-etched cards

✨ Art & Collectibility

A major highlight of Shrouded Fable is its emphasis on unique visuals:

• The set introduces a new parallel foil style, identifiable by a white expansion code box instead of the standard black. 

• Many cards — especially promos tied to products like Kingambit and Greninja ex Illustration Collections — feature artistic treatments inspired by traditional Japanese ukiyo-e (woodblock) art.

Because it’s a special set rather than a main expansion, Shrouded Fable wasn’t sold in regular booster boxes. Instead, it appeared in:
